The Academy of St. James started our Easter break with a very special Easter breakfast. Mrs. Fedakowski spearheaded this fabulous event for our students and their families starting with Mass, then an Easter egg hunt, a visit from the Easter Bunny and finally a special breakfast shared with friends and family. This was not an event to miss! Thank you to Mrs. Fedakowski, the PreK aides, Miss Jaylin, Miss Lourdes, Miss Glenda, & Mrs. Zavala, and Popmtonian Staff for an amazing event!
Yesterday two ASJM students were awarded with certificates for 1st and 2nd place in the American Legion Coloring contest. Congratulations!
The Academy of St. James' Kindergarten class celebrated the Feast of St. Joseph with a Pastries with Parents afternoon! We enjoyed pastries, cookies, donuts, juice, water, and coffee. Most importantly we enjoyed time together! Thank you to all our Moms and Dads who took time out of their busy day to come join us!

For Read Across America Week, ASJM's Kindergarten read Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat Came Back and talked about various authors for children. We ended our lesson with special Cat in the Hat Hats to take home given to us by one of our parents! Keep on reading!
The Dentist visited PreK and Kindergarten today! They told us all about how to brush our teeth and keep our teeth and gums healthy. We had such good questions and behaved so well they even let us brush the Mr. Dragon's teeth! They sent us back to class with goodie bags and coloring books! What a great visit!
Today classes celebrated Valentine's Day. Kindergarten ate some special goodies and then worked on a "Collaborative Coloring Poster". Each student got a different piece of the poster and they had to color it and figure out which pieces went together to complete the poster. Working together on a project that was almost bigger than them was very fun to watch! PreK had a ball eating their treats dressed in Valentine colors and showing each other just how much we appreciate one another. Happy Valentines Day from ASJM Staff and Students!
Today was our 100th Day of School! We celebrated with some awesome outfits made by the students and their families! Thank you to all who participated!
Big Fun for a Big Cause! Grades PreK - Grade 2 enjoyed an afternoon of games sponsored by Student Council to support St. Jude.
Today seventh grade came in to begin practicing for our Christmas show performance together. 7th grade students read books, and colored with the Pre-K students. Special thank you to Mr. Strapp for allowing our friends to try out his guitar!

The Totowa Fire Department came to school today to talk to PreK - 4th Grade. We saw the firefighters put on their entire gear, talked about fire prevention and had all our questions answered! Thank you Totowa Fire Department!
