From Crazy Hat Day to Academic Bowl to Movie and Treat afternoon, seventh grade celebrates “Catholic Schools Week”!  Students participate in a variety of activities to feed their academic, social and spiritual growth.  It is a privilege seventh grade students are aware and very much appreciative of.

In Religion, we have left our Advent journey with renewed hope upon the birth of our Savior and ready for our Lenten journey in which we will focus on social justice in our lives, schools, communities and the world at large.  Students will define what justice is to them and will form committees to focus on an issue they see as a challenge in their world. They will problem-solve and propose solutions to address these issues.

Math is fun!  Math is easy!  We continue to build upon “our tower of knowledge” with a deeper understanding of integers, rational and irrational numbers.  Geometry is infused in the curriculum given the opportunity rather than waiting to reach the chapter.  Eighth grade students have applied the Pythagorean Theorem to calculate missing side lengths of right triangles and most recently have developed a ‘proof’ for similar figures.  Sixth grade students are solving equations with rational numbers.

May the love of Jesus be a bright light as we await new life in spring!

Many blessings,

Mrs. Mc Cluney 7th Grade/Middle School Math
