Academy of Saint James Alumni

In September 1956, with three grades, (Kindergarten, Grade One and Grade Two),
Saint James Parochial School opened its doors! Nearly one hundred children were
enrolled as students that year!

Today, nearly seventy years later, we have almost double that number enrolled at the
Academy of Saint James from classes Prekindergarten to Grade Eight, for the 2023/24
Academic Year! Certainly, we are blessed! Very few of the surrounding parishes can
claim to have their parochial school still active and thriving.

Our Academy remains open without the financial assistance of any diocesan entity!
Certainly, that is possible because of the good graces of the Lord; many sacrifices
made year after year by the parents of each child enrolled; as well as the generosity of
the parishioners of St. James. Moreover, the faculty and administration of our school
are absolutely willing to do whatever is necessary for the education and formation of our
youth.

As an alumnus, surely you are very much aware how important it is for our parochial
school to continue educating our youngsters and forming them as disciples of the Lord
in the Church. Perhaps, you would claim without having been a student of St James
School, your successes as an adult most likely would not have occurred, as often and to
the degree they did!

The Seventieth Anniversary of our school will arrive very soon. I am confident you are
like me in wanting to see the Academy continue to flourish. Therefore, as an alumnus of
St. James School, please kindly join a group of alumni to discuss plans of how to
celebrate our seventieth anniversary, as well as share reflections about the future years
ahead.

Respectfully, I extend an invitation to attend a pizza dinner at the parish rectory on
Thursday, September 21st , 7:00pm.

Please RSVP prior to Tuesday, September 19th, at revmarc15@gmail.com.
On the website of the Academy of St. James, her mission is stated. It is “to guide our
students to grow in their faith, knowledge, and to be of service to others.” You are
needed to continue the said mission into the future!

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Reverend Marc Mancini
Pastor
